The Hunt for the Gingerbread Man

We went to see the Gingerbread Man had visited Mrs. Wanda but all he left was a pieace of him saying we needed to go to Mrs. Hedi's room.

We left the gingerbread man in the microwave to heat up while we were at lunch and he disappeared.

We found he left something for use in the Nurses office. Telling us to go see the

Ms. Raper's class and Mrs. Terrell's class went on a hunt for the Gingerbread Man. The Gingerbread Man visited all the important places in our school. We did this so the kids would know where the Library, the office, Principal's office, and the nurse Mrs. Hedi's rooms were. This just helps the kids understand where all the important places are in our school, in case an emergency occurs they will know where to go.

Monday

On Monday we will start DIBELS testing during reading time. For those who do not know what DIBELS means, this just means your child will be tested at the first of the year on what they know and then throughout the year on what they have learned. We will learn about the color blue and circles. Your child will have a project sent home with them Monday about circles, it will need to be returned by Friday. While studying the color blue they will color things that are blue, learn how to write the word blue, and learn how to read the word blue. We will also learn how to write the number 1 and count to 1. We do not start our Reading Program until next Monday, August 24.
Kindergarten is different than it use to be, students will learn their ABC's and sounds but as we learn this we are also learning how to read. So I will be sending things home for homework to work with your child on ABC's, letter sounds, and reading. Thanks for all you do and have a fun and safe weekend.

Magazine donation

Thank you parents who sent magazines with your child on Friday. We are going to start our chicka chicka boom boom project on Monday. If you still have some magazines you can send please feel free to send them on Monday. I will be posting our pictures from the Gingerbread Man hunt on Thursday and Friday. Your child had a great time visting important places in the school and trying to find the Gingerbread Man. Then finally they found him and they got to eat him so he wouldn't run away again.

We had an excellent first three days of school. I am posting the students pictures we made for our paradise theme. Parents your children are wonderful and I have truly enjoyed them the past three days. I look forward to this year we are going to learn so much and have lots of fun.

Open House went great

Thanks to all the parents/guardians that showed up for open house, I really do appreciate all your time and support!!!!! We are going to have a great year and I can't wait till Monday morning to see the first six students!!!! Then Tuesday morning I will see the other seven!!!!!! Open House Thursday Night at 6:00

Parents we have open house at 6:00 on Thursday night, but I need you all to be at the lunchroom at 5:00 to go over several things you need to know about the first day of school, lunch, break, and my behavior plan!!! I hope to see you and your child there Thursday night at 5:00!!!!! Bring your child's supplies so you don't have to deal with supplies on Monday!!!!!!!! I will be posting names of students who will be phasing in on Monday and Tuesday!!!! We will go over phasing in on Thursday night if you are not familiar!!!!!
