Parents/Guardians
On Monday we will start DIBELS testing during reading time. For those who do not know what DIBELS means, this just means your child will be tested at the first of the year on what they know and then throughout the year on what they have learned. We will learn about the color blue and circles. Your child will have a project sent home with them Monday about circles, it will need to be returned by Friday. While studying the color blue they will color things that are blue, learn how to write the word blue, and learn how to read the word blue. We will also learn how to write the number 1 and count to 1. We do not start our Reading Program until next Monday, August 24.
Kindergarten is different than it use to be, students will learn their ABC's and sounds but as we learn this we are also learning how to read. So I will be sending things home for homework to work with your child on ABC's, letter sounds, and reading. Thanks for all you do and have a fun and safe weekend.

- My name is Ms. Raper. I graduated from the University of Alabama in May 2009, with a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education. I plan to start the masters program in the summer of 2010. I'm engaged to a wonderful guy, Cody Ring, but we haven't started planning a wedding yet. I have two of the sweetest Poms named Bam Bam and Sophie!!! I love to read children's books, play outdoors with Sophie and Bam, watching Alabama Football, and playing sports. My family is my life besides my little Kindergarteners. I grew up in the town of Hackleburg all my life and attended school 1st - 12th grade at Hackleburg. I really enjoy living the country life, it's so much better than a big city. I am very excited about meeting my first class of Kindergarten students. We are going to have a fun time, and learn a lot of cool things. I am so excited and we are going to have a blast in Ms. Raper's Paradise!!!!
